5th Annual "Bike the Boulevard" - Saturday, May 31, 2008

Participants can come and enjoy a bike through a portion of the City's Boulevard system and enjoy the sites of the 12th Ward as well as participate in all kinds of fun events, refreshments and food to be provided.
City Sticker Sales in the 12th Ward - Tuesday, July 1, 2008
12th Ward Public Service Office - 2458 W. 38th Street, 10:00am - 6:00pm
In partnership with the Miguel Del Valle, City Clerk the 12th Ward will be selling city stickers as well as residential permit parking stickers/ passes.
4th Annual "Our Children, Our Future" Event

This event aims at raising funds to promote educational opportunities in various categories such as scholarships, seminars, sports & fitness education, job training
The event will also provide entertainment, live music acts, DJ's, mini-workshops, a carnival and much more.
12th Ward Immunization - September 6, 2008
12th Ward Public Service Office - 2458 W. 38th Street 10:00am - 3:00pm
In order to prepare for the upcoming school year, Alderman Cardenas in partnership with St. Anthony's Hospital will provide immunizations, dental and eye exams for all school children. School supplies willl also be distributed to all children.
6th Annual Senior and Community Health Fair - Monday, October 20, 2008
Our Lady of Fatima Church - 3845 S. California Avenue - 11:00am - 3:00pm
This event will provide participants with over 500 flu vaccines as well as energy saving light bulbs, weatherization kits, senior I.D.s and CEDA assistance to all qualifying individuals.
Halloween "Trick or Treat" in the Ward - Friday October 31, 2008
The 12th Ward Public Service Office will deliver treats to the different schools in the ward and inform them on safety precautions when trick or treating.
12th Ward Health Clinic - Friday, November 7, 2008

12th Ward residents will be provided with flu shots, as well as energy saving light bulbs, weatherization kits, State of Illinois I.D(s) and CEDA assistance to all qualifying individuals.

Thanksgiving (Turkey Give Away ) - Monday November 24, 2008

Approximately 500 turkeys will be given out to families in the 12th Ward communities of Back of the Yards, Brighton Park, Little Village and McKinley Park.
