The Chicagoland Regional College Program (CRCP)
The Chicagoland Regional College Program (CRCP) and its partner UPS recognize the economic challenges facing our city's residents, in regards to employment, access to college education and financial aid. With this in mind the CRCP and UPS have collaborated with five local institutions of higher learning to creat new opportunities for aspiring college students. CRCP is a great way for interested candidates of any age to access a quality education, employment opportunites and do it without incurring huge debt because of college loans.
Participation in the program is contingent upon the candidate's employment on the 10pm-3am or 4am-9am shifts at UPS in Hodgkins. Benefits include 100% paid tution, required books and fees, academic bonuses and program mentors on campus. AdditionallY, CRCP students are provided a transportation allowance can apply for rental assistance.

The OHSP Scholarship Log will assist students in finding an ideal college. Students searching for college scholarships will be able to narrow their search down by state, major, tuition, sports, and several other criteria. Additionally, students will be able to search homepages and links of the schools they are interested in, to review, compare, and sort the schools according to detailed profiles. Students enrolled in an Illinois college, university or vocational training
program may qualify for a CSBG Scholarship. Funds can be applied toward
tuition, uniforms, study-related fees and books. Individual scholarships
range from $600 to $2,000.

Hispanic Hertiage Organization is hosting the annual Hispanic Heritage Essay Contest
The Hispanic Heritage Organization is hosting the annual Hispanic Heritage 2008 Essay Contest. The Hispanic Heritage Organization, founded in 1994 to enhance education and cutural awareness for Hispanic and non-Hispanics each year celebrates Hispanic Hertiage month (September 15th through October 15th) by hosting a variety of events.
This year's essay topic is "How I would develop a plan for immigration." Essays may be written in English and Spanish. The contest is to open all students in the Staet of Illinois from grades 4 through 12th and college and adult education students. 17 winners will be selected. Entries must be submitted on or before Monday, June 30, 2008. Winners will be announced on Friday, September 5, 2008 during the Opening Ceremony at the Palmer House Hilton, Chicago. XEROX Technical Minority Scholarship Program

The Xerox Technical Minority Scholarship provides funding to minority students enrolled full time in a technical science or engineering discipline. Applicants must be enrolled full time in a four-year institution, pursuing a degree at the bachelor level or above with a GPA of 3.0 or higher. This scholarship is available to U.S. citizens and individuals with Permanent Resident visas.

An AT&T Labs Fellowship is the opportunity of a lifetime. Fellowships are available to outstanding under-represented minority and women students who are U. S. Citizens or Permanent Residents and who are pursuing PhD studies in computer and communications-related fields. If you really want to make a difference as a professional scientist, we can help you get started.
Types of Awards
There is a single type of award in the program: a 3-year fellowship. It is awarded contingent on an annual review demonstrating that the recipients are making satisfactory progress toward their PhD.
What the Fellowship Provide
- All educational expenses during the school year, including tuition, books, fees, and approved travel expenses.
- Education expenses for summer study or university research.
- A stipend for living expenses (currently $2380 per month, paid for 10 months of the year, plus a $500 book allowance).
- Support for attending approved scientific conferences.
- A mentor who is a staff member at AT&T Labs. The program emphasizes personal interaction with your mentor. For the typical recipient, this component of the program is often the most important one of all.
Summer Employment
Each recipient of a fellowship is placed in a summer research internship the first summer. During these summers, the students work as a part of research teams on various ongoing projects within AT&T Labs. You can visit the demos section of our home page to get a flavor of some of the work presently in progress.
Application and Selection
Fellowship applications should include:

- Official transcripts of grades from all undergraduate schools attended.
- Statement of interest and research and career goals.
- Three letters of recommendation from college professors who can evaluate your ability and potential for research (other letters of recommendation are also welcome). Graduate Record Examination scores on the Aptitude Test and the appropriate Advanced Test. To have your scores sent to us, list the institution code R2041, AT&T Labs, on the GRE registration form.

Best Buy wants to help students prepare for a brighter future, which starts with a college education. That's why since 1999 Best Buy has awarded over $10 million in scholarships to more than 9,000 students. This year 1,500 students will be selected to receive awards of $1,500 each. An additional 51 students will receive awards of $10,000 each. At Best Buy, we believe what students learn inside and outside of the classroom are equally important, which is why the Best Buy Scholarship Program rewards students for their volunteer efforts and work experience in addition to academic achievements.
Qualified applicants must:
- be a graduating high school senior living in the United States or Puerto Rico.
- live within 75 miles of a Best Buy Store in the United States or Puerto Rico.
- have a minimum cumulative high school grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale (or an equivalent).

KFC Colonel' Scholars Program

The KFC Colonel's Scholars Program® is looking for high school seniors with entrepreneurial drive, strong perseverance, demonstrated financial need, and who want to pursue a college education at an accredited public institution in the state they reside.
The KFC Colonel's Scholars Program is about you, your dreams and aspirations, and the perseverance to succeed. This program is offered to high school seniors planning to attend a public in-state college or university. Students who meet the criteria may apply online to become a KFC's Colonel's Scholar. Students selected for this scholarship are eligible to receive up to $20,000 to complete a bachelor's degree program
Little Village Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors Scholarship Program-
The Little Village Chamber of Commerce offers a scholarship for Hispanic students who are interested in pursuing higher education. The LVCC has awarded more than 170 scholarships in excess of $450,000 to Hispanic students in Little Village and surrounding communities.
